BUILDING RENOVATIONS

Northwest Fence and Wire Works Building – Portland, Oregon
Originally built as a livery stable in 1911, this 20,000 s.f., two-level historic renovation cost $1.5 million. Norwest installed all new electrical service, mechanical systems, windows, and doors. Also, we restored the original maple hardwood floors, made major seismic upgrades to the structure, and performed extensive tuck-pointing on the exterior brick.

Dr. Kelly Blodgett, D.M.D. – Portland, Oregon
Converting a former industrial site into a 5000-square-foot dental office provided a serious challenge: identify the complete project budget in a way that enabled Dr. Blodgett to balance the costs of the specific needs of his dental practice with the required building upgrades and fees arising from the change of use.

Columbia Distributing Company – Portland, Oregon
This seven-phase project took close to 18 months to complete. It included three new mezzanines, a commercial-grade kitchen, a commercial humidor, a wine tasting room, new offices, and exterior improvements. The nearly $1 million renovation took place while the space was occupied and operating 24 hours a day.

Hayden Corners – Portland, Oregon
These two new buildings of split-face block construction (a total of 7,600 s.f.) required auger-cast piles to support the foundation because the site was a former landfill. Major off-site work included a new sanitary and storm sewer system and major street improvements.

Trader Joe's – Portland, Oregon (Hollywood District)
To prepare for the nationally recognized, specialty grocer, this space required a complete renovation and extensive site work. The 16,000 s.f., $1.3 million project called for a large refrigeration system, structural improvements, and a new roof, parking lot, and loading dock.

Unisource Corporation – Gresham, Oregon
Norwest completed a major, 264,000 s.f. warehouse and office renovation for Unisource. The $1.6 million job entailed renovating executive offices, upgrading fire suppression and electrical systems, and installing a new elevator, overhead doors, and docks. In addition, Norwest handled the remodeling of the company's previous 220,000 s.f. space.

Our multiphase renovation was particularly challenging. The space was fully occupied and the work affected several different departments. Norwest was an integral part of the process, helping us find the architect and managing the project. They coordinated with each of our departments to make sure everything went smoothly. We were very pleased with the results.
